Privacy Policy
The short version
- Your photos never leave your iPhone. SpaceCut reads and analyses your library on the device only.
- No account. No sign-up, email or login.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. We don't sell or share personal data.
- Payments are handled by Apple. We never see your card details.
Who we are
SpaceCut is made by YAY Studios Ltd (“we”, “us”). If you have a question about privacy, email support@spacecut.app.
Your photo library
SpaceCut asks iOS for access to your photos so it can find large videos, measure each month and show you items to keep or cut. All of this happens on your iPhone. Nothing about your library is uploaded: not your photos or videos, not their dates, places, sizes or any other details.
You choose how much access to give (full, limited or none) and can change it any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → SpaceCut.
Deleting photos and videos
SpaceCut deletes through Apple's Photos framework. iOS always asks you to confirm, and deleted items go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where you can recover them for up to 30 days. If you use iCloud Photos, deletions sync to your other devices, as they would in the Photos app.
What's stored on your iPhone
- Your review progress and app settings (for example, which months you've finished and your weekly goal).
- How many of your 100 free deletes you've used. This count is kept in the iPhone's Keychain so it survives reinstalling the app. It isn't sent to us.
Deleting the app removes its data from your iPhone, apart from the free-delete count in the Keychain.
Subscriptions and purchases
If you buy SpaceCut Pro, Apple processes the payment under its own privacy policy. We don't receive your name, email or payment details.
To check whether you have SpaceCut Pro and to restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service that acts on our behalf. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID (a random identifier, not linked to your name or Apple Account) and your App Store purchase receipts, along with the basic technical details any app request carries, such as app version and iOS version. It does not receive anything about your photo library. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
What we don't do
- No analytics or advertising tools, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
- No accounts, so there's no profile of you on our side.
Children
SpaceCut isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Your choices and rights
Because your library stays on your iPhone, you're in control of it: change photo access in Settings, or delete the app to remove its local data. For anything related to purchase records, or to exercise your data-protection rights (such as access or deletion), email support@spacecut.app and we'll help.
Changes to this policy
If we change how SpaceCut handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
